Our Natural Wools and Mohair

Note:  On all our natural fibers - 1/4 oz. equals approximately one cup and 1/8 oz. equals approximately 1/2 cup.

"A feast for the senses, our smorgasbord of natural wools and mohair come to you courtesy of Larry, Mo and Curly plus Lucy, Chico, Willa, Harpo and Groucho who are all bred and raised here in the heartland and are more than willing to share their bounty with you for all your art and crafting needs.

Our Mohair comes from the Angora goats...... the lighter gray mohair comes from Chico who is the leader of the goats and is very affectionate and "talks" a lot.  The darker mohair comes from Lucy, who is very sweet, an escape artist and a sister to Chico.  The other two mohair goats are twin brothers, Harpo and Groucho, you can only tell them apart by the freckles on their noses!  They are both white angora goats and very nice.

The white wavy wool comes from Willa, a border leicester/romney sheep and the "Queen" of the farm.  An enormous sheep, we got about 14 lbs. of wool from her.  The natural gray wool comes from "the boys", the Jacob sheep:  Larry, Curly and Moe.  There are only about 1500 Jacob sheep in the country.  They are valued for their natural colored wool which comes is a variety of natural colors and makes beautiful felt.  The sheep are 'free range' and roam where ever they want, grazing on only organic pastures.  Sometimes they lay in the front yard and think they are pink flamingoes!

All these wools work particularly well in wet felting and needle felting projects.  No extra charge for 'barnyard' fibers that may be included!
